ANU launches Australian Research Network on the Japanese Economy (ARNJE)
ANU has just launched the Australian Research Network on the Japanese Economy (ARNJE) which aims to deepen research on the ever changing Japanese economy. Beginning with sixty researchers based in Australia, ARNJE will expand its scope to include members from Asia and the Pacific. The network is designed to link specialists together by creating a forum for discussions and providing opportunities for conferences and workshops. Balsillie School Continues Growth
The Balsillie School of International Affairs continues to move forward with drive and determination. Recently, the Balsillie school announced that it retained internationally acclaimed Kuwabara Payne McKenna Blumberg Architects (KPMB) to design its new home. When completed the Balsillie School will be over 65,000 square feet and will house leading academics from around the world. The School announced the appointment of Ramesh Thakur as its inaugural director and is quickly building a reputation for excellence. The Balsillie School was launched in 2007 with a $100 million donation from Mr. Balsillie and key partners. The gift is the largest single donation to the field of social sciences in Canada.
